On Sunday, I was at Home Depot. I came out of the store to discover some a-hole hit my car with a metal shopping car, leaving orange paint down the side and a good sized dent. Two witnesses came up to me and gave me a description of the car and the license plate number. I don’t want to pay a deductible, I want this jerk to pay for it. If I call my insurance and tell them about it, will my rates go up? How else can I get this guys information to take him to small claims court?

I want to purchase this car. I think it’s a great price, but the dealer told me it’s been in an accident and that insurance paid for the damages. Since it’s on record and if I were to buy it would my car insurance rate be affected??
this is what the dealer told me about the accident and i quote him
“The report reads primary impact point of right door. Not branded or salavaged though. It was fixed through the insurance co so it sounds worse than it is.”

My policy is about to come up for renewal and they’re going to hike up my rate by 23%! I just talked to their customer service person and she said they’re doing it all over Massachusetts. Are all the car insurance companies raising their rates so much in Massachusetts? Was there some law that passed which changed their profit margin or something?
Is there another car insurance company that will give me a better deal?
